Danish Digitalization, Data Science and AI (D3A) is a new national conference hosted by Pioneer Centre for AI (P1), Danish Data Science Academy (DDSA), and Digital Research Centre Denmark (DIREC). D3A is a scientific conference where the newest research and insights will be discussed.
With this joint annual meetup, we are creating a space for knowledge sharing across sub-fields and sectors within Danish research and development, thereby creating an essential framework towards establishing Denmark as a strong international player in AI, deep digital tech, and data science.
Danish Data Science Academy (DDSA) aims to create a unique data science environment in Denmark which can compete internationally and attract talent. We want to unite business, organizations, public authorities, and research, creating a Danish data science ecosystem that enables excellent data science-driven research, training, networking, and knowledge sharing.
Data science is a rapidly developing field and is of crucial importance for the development of our society. This applies to everything from digitalization and disease prevention to sustainable growth and business development. In 2030, Denmark will lack up to 80,000 people with skills in AI.
Knowledge sharing and training of new generations of data science experts is vital for creating a world-class data science environment. Novo Nordisk Foundation and VILLUM FONDEN have awarded DKK 184 million to DDSA to support and fund education, networking, and collaboration within Danish data science.
The Pioneer Centre for Artificial Intelligence (P1) focuses on fundamental AI research, and within an interdisciplinary framework, develops platforms, methods, and practices addressing society’s greatest challenges.
Hosted by the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Computer Science, cooperating institutions, Denmark’s Technical University, IT University of Copenhagen, Aalborg University, and Aarhus University co-lead the efforts along with Director, Professor Serge Belongie.
AI has the potential to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges, and the goal of P1 is to accelerate the development of cutting-edge AI technologies and the adoption of AI by fostering interdisciplinary collaborations between academia, industry, and the public sector. P1 also emphasizes the importance of responsible and ethical AI development, with a focus on creating AI systems that are transparent, explainable, and accountable.
Digital Research Centre Denmark (DIREC) is a unique collaboration between the eight Danish universities and The Alexandra Institute supported by the Innovation Fund Denmark.
The purpose of DIREC is to help translate state-of-the-art research into innovation in society and strengthen Denmark’s position as a digital leading country. Research in DIREC is carried out in projects across ten digital research areas. We bring together researchers with strong players from the Danish business community and the public sector in multidisciplinary research and innovation projects and together we contribute to growth and innovation and solve some of society’s most urgent challenges.
To meet the great demand for highly educated digital professionals, DIREC also strives to strengthen the research capacity in Denmark by educating more young and talented researchers, and we contribute to promoting and improving education within digital technologies to attract more young people and thereby help minimize the shortage of digital professionals.
