Workshop

XR Visions:
Challenges and Future Directions of Human-Centered Extended Reality

Wednesday 23 October 13.15

Organizer: Ken Pfeuffer, Aarhus University

The ever-evolving field of Extended Reality (XR) is set to revolutionize how we interact with the digital world. Rapid advances in XR consumer devices, such as the Meta Quest 3 and the Apple Vision Pro, hint toward the next generation of personal devices after the smartphone. By blurring the line between physical and virtual spaces, these devices offer immense potential for various applications.

However, ensuring these technologies are accessible, intuitive, and beneficial presents a crucial challenge. Let’s envision a future where XR is seamlessly blended in our life, and reflect on how to make it a reality. This session focuses on the critical issues and promising avenues for a human-centered XR. Early-career researchers will talk beyond academic papers and present their vision of future human-centered XR.
